‘Fire Angels India’ is a WHAM’s initiative across make India Fire Safe as the Nation loses numerous lives & property due to lack of awareness on Fire Safety. WHAM is dedicated to build a community of 10,00,000 citizens in India to be addressed as “Fire Angels” who will voluntarily spread awareness on Fire Safety. In the last 6 months WHAM has created a buzz with more than 200 active volunteers across the country as Super Fire Angels. These Super Fire Angels have pledged & are on a mission to enroll Fire Angels in their network from different strata of the society to spread awareness on Fire Safety through Education, Awareness Camps, Youth Interventions, Employment and Skill Development of fire victims. WHAM encourages every person to participate in this noble cause of our broader community standing for the goal of making India Fire Safe.
WHAM through the project “Fire Angels India” will create the first line of defense to support. It will pioneer to marathon run “FIRE SAFE INDIA” to create awareness across the entire country & will endeavour the people to undertake a pledge to make India Fire Safe. These Fire Angels will also be trained to help fire victims with first aid during emergencies, promote in need for Fire Safety Equipment, to establish connect with Fire victims & help in their skill development & subsequent employment.
WHAM team felt the need to spread awareness of fire safety as we experience every day multiple incidences of fire across India. It is a great loss to an individual where one looses his hard earned money, ashes of place made with love, burn himself and a loss to the nation too.
Fire angels India has created a community of Volunteers and they are named as Fire Angels who pledge to make india fire safe by spreading awareness, imparting knowledge, persuade the area of influence to keep fire safety at their places and educating them how to use. The word angel means protection, security, help so our Fire Angels are from all spheres of life and within their busy schedule in the current life have pledge to make India fire safe.
You can become a Fire Angel if you are a citizen of India and are attained the age of 18yrs.
Fire angels are creating a second line of defense to support the fire brigade team of the fire department helping them to control fire and to extend first aid to the fire victim. For any cause participation of the community is very much needed to make it a success or to strengthen the mission. The Mission to fire safe India by the government needs community and social support to make it a big success.

You will have to answer few questions and will have to mention the reference code of the Fire angels who has referred you. In case you are a fresh applicant then our support team would call you and confirm the credentials before approving you as a fire angel. You can do as much as you can to make people aware of the importance of fire safety in their homes and at work place. Help the procure a fire extinguisher and also make them join the mission to make India fire safe by becoming a Fire Angel. There is a list which has the roles and responsibility of a Fire angels which you will be communicated in details once you become a Fire Angel.
WHAM trustees are from different fields and experience of life. It was Mainly started by Ms. Suchitra Chhillar W/O Brigadier Ram Chhillar, Bar to Sena Medal, Vishisht Sewa Medal (Retd), along with other prominent members working towards social development and social safety.
WHAM was formed 7 years back.
WHAM realized this reality and places paramount importance to the wellbeing of a ‘Mother and her Child’, as Mothers are the backbone of any family, who influences the child most. Her empowerment is bound to have cascading impact not only the family but the society at large. Hence, they are at the forefront of WHAM’s mission in urban slums, rural and backward areas of Delhi & National Capital Region (NCR). It is their Hearts and Minds that we are determined to inspire and uplift.
We do not have any effective NGO working towards awareness of fire safety in India and we need this community to help all in terms of knowledge, learning, training of fire safety hence working towards making India fire safe.
You would get a certificate and a FA Badge. You would be imparted knowledge of fire safety and equipment. You will accumulate points on various activities you do to support the Make India Fire Safe Mission.

Corporates can support the mission through donations and through volunteering to become a corporate fire angel.

Training would be of 4 levels which would include the major learnings required to be a able to spread awareness and act at the time of fire emergencies.

We are spread in 23 states in India.
Chapter is the ORG structure in which FA would be operating in the states in India. Each State would be called a state chapter.
All states would be having one chapter.
Joining as fire angel means joining the chapter. One can move upwards by contributing more services towards the mission.

One meeting is important.
We want FA should attend all meetings however exceptions can happen.
Training is majorly through web so is very convenient to attend trainings. However once in a while trainings can happen in forums also.
There are pre made training formats and on forums our super angels or advisor does the training depending on the level of training imparted.
